These terms apply to the Daily Office app and this website. By downloading or using the app you agree to them.
The licence to use the app
Daily Office is licensed, not sold, to you for use on Apple devices that you own or control, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add to the Standard EULA; where they differ, the Standard EULA governs your use of the app obtained from the App Store.
Beta versions
Versions distributed through TestFlight are pre-release software offered for testing. They may contain errors, may change or stop working, and are provided for evaluation under Apple’s TestFlight terms. Please do not share beta builds, or text or images from them, beyond the testing group.
The texts
The texts of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer are in the public domain. The scripture translation and any other licensed texts in the app are the property of their copyright holders and are used by permission; their notices appear in the app under Settings → Sources and on any PDF the app produces. They are included for your personal devotional use and may not be extracted, republished or redistributed except as their holders permit.
The typefaces included in the app are used under the SIL Open Font Licence, which is reproduced in the app.
Accuracy
Great care has gone into following the Prayer Book’s calendar, lectionary and rubrics exactly, and the app is tested against tables taken from the printed book. Even so, errors are possible. The printed 1979 Book of Common Prayer is the authority; where the app differs from it, the book is right. Please report any difference you find.
No affiliation
Daily Office is an independent work. It is not published, sponsored or endorsed by the Episcopal Church, the Church Pension Fund, or Church Publishing Incorporated.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app and this website are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from their use. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the law of your country that cannot be limited by agreement.
This website
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics. Its typeface is served by Google Fonts, which receives your browser’s standard request for it.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time; the date above will show when. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
